Can seven minutes a day change your life? You bet!
Last spring I was inspired to read The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. I was reminded how much I loved my early morning quiet time that had slipped away as a relationship grew and my living quarters shrunk.
After reading Hal’s book, I renewed my morning quiet time yet again– until Sunny (my gift from the Universe) came into my life. Having a dog can really change your life– your mornings in particular!
Her needs and comfort can, at times, take priority over my preferred schedule. Who could resist those big brown eyes?
What follows is my solution to having a little time to myself, so I can start my day feeling centered and connected. If you’ve decided you’re too busy to take time for yourself, then you definitely need to implement this too. The entire 5-step, personalized ritual can be done in only seven minutes!
The five steps include 1) Conscious breathing, 2) Give thanks,
3) Ho’Oponopono, 4) Silence, and 5) your customized I AM Prayer.
My 7-Minute Spiritual Practice
Conscious Breathing– 7 full cycles of 5 counts intake, 5 counts hold, 5 counts exhale, 5 counts hold.
Give Thanks– Slowly say “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” (breathe in/out). Repeat 7 times.
Ho’Oponopono — “YOUR NAME- I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.” Repeat 7 times.
Silence– 60-90 seconds of stillness and silence.
Personalized I AM Prayer: Choose 7 intentions. State, “I Am ______________.” Repeat with each intention. “Yes! And so it is!” Repeat the entire set two more times (total of three rounds).
My intentions are to be Prosperous, Peaceful, Visible, Valued, Safe, Conscious, Connected. Here’s what I say:
“I AM Prosperous. I AM Peaceful. I AM Visible. I AM Valued. I AM safe. I AM Conscious. I AM Connected. Yes! And so it is! I AM Prosperous. I AM Peaceful. I AM Visible. I AM Valued. I AM safe. I AM Conscious. I AM Connected. Yes! And so it is! I AM Prosperous. I AM Peaceful. I AM Visible. I AM Valued. I AM safe. I AM Conscious. I AM Connected. Yes! And so it is!” (I prefer doing this out loud, but you can also do it in silence. The important thing is to just do it!)
When I begin working with a new money coaching client, I suggest they incorporate a ritual around working with their money. The structure and simplicity of this seven minute miracle can bring peace and calm to what could be a stressful and fearful task (when first getting started).
